ILS Provider

People living with disabilities and their loved ones deserve to be provided with love, support, and the best of care from their communities. TLC Social Services is a social service agency working with disabled adults and their loved ones within San Diego County. We work one-on-one with each client, providing direction and guidance based on their unique needs. We are seeking special individuals who would like to join our close-knit family and serve their community as Independent Living Services (ILS) providers. Applicants must
  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Possess a high school diploma (relevant experience/college degree is preferred)
  • Have a valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle and insurance.
  • Have open availability Monday to Friday.
  • Have or be willing to obtain CPR certification.

Duties:
  • Communicate regularly with clients/families and meet in person with them weekly based upon their availability/agreed upon times and locations;
  • Assist clients in the exploration of community resources such businesses, agencies, and recreational resources;
  • Assist clients in developing vital skills related to gaining greater independence, including: meal planning and nutrition, cooking, health and safety, shopping, money management, household management, etc.;
  • Assist clients in maintaining their daily schedule including keeping up with appointments, taking medications, ensuring bills have been paid;
  • Maintain program documentation as required by SDRC and its funding sources;
  • Participate in all required orientations, trainings, staff meetings and monthly collaborative meetings;
  • Adhere to all TLCSS and SDRC personnel policies and procedures; and
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as designated by the Executive Director.

Qualifications:
Applicants should be extremely organized, responsible and possess a sincere desire to work with adults with disabilities (physical, mental, and developmental). Applicants need to be self-motivated, enthusiastic, compassionate individuals who are willing to learn. It's preferable you have experience in providing services such as job readiness, academic support, outreach, community education and development, advocacy and case management. The ability to work with a diverse cultural population is necessary. Bilingual English/Spanish/Tagalog preferred. Hours and Pay:
Applicants will be working directly with clients on their Independent Support Plans (ISPs). Pay starts at $12 an hour, part-time, along with a gas stipend. Training is given upon hire. Following successful completion of a 90 day probation, pay will increase.
